Self-compassion, self-kindness, a sense of oneness with humanity, and balanced, mindful awareness are available to you in every moment. Kindness opens our hearts to suffering, so we can understand what we need and nurture ourselves. Oneness with humanity opens us to our inter-connectedness, so that we can experience deeper relationships. Mindful awareness opens us to the present moment, so we can accept our experience with greater ease. Together they create a safe, connected presence.

Self-compassion is a gift we can give ourselves, a skill we can learn. Even those who didn’t receive enough affection and nurturing in childhood or who feel uncomfortable when they are kind to themselves. Self-compassion helps to heal the self-criticism, self-isolation, or self-absorption so many of us experience in our lives. Self-compassion provides emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit our mistakes, find inspiration in our lives, forgive ourselves when needed, relate wholeheartedly to others and be authentically true to ourselves.

Research has shown that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional well-being, less anxiety, depression and stress, maintenance of healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and satisfying personal relationships.

More about this retreat:

~The teachers will offer guided mindfulness, loving-kindness and self-compassion practices

~Participants will remain mostly in silence so you can deeply explore and gain as much as possible from your own experience.

~The practices in the mornings and afternoons will include alternate sitting or walking and movement practices.

~During this retreat, we will be focusing our meditations on enhancing and deepening our mindfulness, loving-kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity.

~There will be an optional silent early morning practice before breakfast.

~In the evenings the teachers will offer talks to help you relate experientially to the following day’s practices.

~You will have the option to participate in an evening Sound Bath (Crystal & Tibetan bowls, Gong, Drumming, Tuning forks and more) or a calming Yoga Nidra session to help you sleep.

~You will also have at least one individual interview with a teacher where you can discuss your practice, and how you are finding the retreat.

~Reiki and massage sessions are also available ($)


This retreat will be focused on looking after ourselves, and on nourishing our compassion both through our practice, and through time for relaxation. You will be given free time to snowshoe through the trails, skate on the lake, enjoy a sauna or curl up for a nap - you deserve it :)
