9:30am -12pm Walk and Woodland Sketching
Let Mother Nature be our guide as we explore meandering pathways of Gaia. We’ll hone our observational drawing skills to create intricate drawings from the bounty of the forest: trees, leaves, fungi. Focus on quality of line, learning presence through mindful drawing techniques & penwork.
3:30pm Watercolours by the Lake.
Enjoy the glory of the sun as she shines down on us. Learn how to edit and create a whimsical watercolour illustrations. Get tips on how to capture light, colour, texture & the serenity of the lake. Please have your art supplies ready to go J
4pm-6:30 Personal time: Relax in the Sauna / take a nap in the hammock / meditate by the lake / explore the property on or perhaps you’ll want to continue your art practice!
7:30pm - 8:30pm Review & Critiques
Let’s catch up on our day and wind down with a recap of our intentions & experience as we share our work from the day. Crystal will offer suggestions and tips.
8:30pm 20 minute Optional wind-down yoga session for all levels. Crystal (or a guest leader) will lead an easy, calming flow session for all levels.

All women ages 16+ are welcomed
I’ve never done ART or YOGA….can i still benefit?
You do not need prior experience in any of the areas covered by the retreat. Your facilitators are experts at pacing the workshops to meet the varied needs of participants of all levels. The weekend fosters a non competitive environment built on shared experiences and customized guided lessons.
Crystal will supply brushes, watercolour jars, watercolour paper, support boards, pencils and erasers (but feel free to bring your own watercolour pads, palettes, brushes & pencil sets for ease of use)
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING:
A sketchbook no larger than 9x12
If you would like to purchase a watercolour journal (doubles as a sketchbook), I recommend 5 x8 or larger:

The yoga studio comes fully equipped with mats, blocks, blankets and meditation cushions, however you are welcomed to bring your own items.

ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATIONS
Your stay includes dinner on day one and breakfast, lunch and dinner on day two, breakfast and lunch on day three. Snacks coffee / tea and filtered water available throughout the day. We eat well to be well. The lacto-ovo Vegetarian Cafe is fueled by Gaia’s organic vegetable garden as well as local organic farms. Their delicious and nutritious meals will ensure you glow from the inside out!
Guests stay in several cabins on the property each with 3-4 individual beds (some twin/ some double). Relax on a sandy beach at the edge of the semi-private lake: Petit Lac Usher. Practice yoga on Stand Up Paddle Boards, or take a tour in a canoe. Lush gardens include a Zen Garden and Walking Meditation Garden. There are many walking/hiking trails to explore and peaceful hideaways to discover!
