This 2 day workshop offers an introduction to mindful eating practices to support you in creating a healthier realtionship through cultivating non-judgemental, compassionate, awareness of eating, food choices, and how we relate to these experiences. This will be paired with practical teachings on how to choose and integrate certain foods and ingredients to maximize nourishment and JOY from food.

John Armstrong - Culinary Director at Gaia Wellness Retreat
John is a graduate of Carelton University with a BA in Social Science. He was introduced to Buddist meditation practices in the mid 1980s and has since expanded his interests to include a wide range of mystical and spiritual practices. From 2013-2017, he was owner/operator of two restaurants: cofounder TRIO Bistro and Founder of Jaks Kitchen. At Gaia, John has opened his culinary interests to the world of vegan, vegetarian, and raw foods while referencing material from refcent works that relate mental health to the health of the gut.
Nicole LeBlanc - Clinic Social Worker at Mental Health & Addiction Services of Ottawa
Nicole is a clinical Spcial Worker, Psycotherapist at Mental Health & Addiction Services of Ottawa. She works with individuals (17+ years of age) who struggle with binge eating, anxiety, depression, trauma, and addictions. She has been practicing and leading mindfulness-based intervaentions for over 4.5 years. She is a qualified Mindfulness Teacher in Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness (MB-EAT) & Mindfullness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). She is also a teacher-in-traning in Mindfulness-Based Self Compassion (MSC) through the School of Medicine, University of San Diego.
